We docked at the far end of the spacecraft.
We discover an airlock was opened and atmosphere has been vented in this portion of the ship. Power is offline. Engines are still running.
Viviane Rose Lachepelle accidentally breaks the manual handle on the bulkhead when entering this room. From this point on, there is atmosphere. The team does not leave EVA suits due to possible viral/toxin contamination.
By this point we have passed several of the crew frozen solid.
Here we encounter the miner that sent the distress signal. He accompanies us the remainder of the mission.
At this point we split up. Viviane goes to restart electrical systems. Before doing so, she restores backup power to a computer in the bridge and revokes the keycard access of all personnel on the ship – we do not know if there are any living hostile crew members in any of the compartments that were sealed in the depressurized area, we did not want to risk them leaving their confines and attacking.
After successfully hacking the system, Vivane restores power.
Meanwhile, Hattori Hanzo and Bahat were exploring the mines while Caleb waited with the miner at the entrance.
After power was restored, Caleb noticed the frozen bodies started to thaw remarkably quickly, and they were apparently still alive. The squad began flex-cuffing as many of the frozen bodies as they could. As they awoke they charged with murderous rampage if they were not cuffed. Those that charged were dispatched with stun weapons, and cuffed unconscious. The squad then split to secure the two mine shafts and ensure there were no remaining crew inside. The party then jumped the ship back to Jupiter Station where quarantine could be established to investigate the toxin.
The toxin was the polymer itself, which increased elasticity in the blood allowing the ‘infected’ to survive the freezing process. The effects of the toxin would eventually naturally wear off – it was a neural blocker that the body would eventually flush.
A vote was held afterwards to determine application of the newfound polymer.
